Teton Area Rapid Response Network (TARRN)

The Teton Area Rapid Response Network (TARRN) provides timely, accurate information about immigration enforcement activity in Teton County, with the aim of reducing fear and misinformation, keeping neighborhoods safe, and minimizing economic disruptions.

How does TARRN work?

TARRN operates a hotline where community members can call in reports of suspected immigration enforcement activity. Volunteer dispatchers gather information and deploy volunteer verifiers to the scene to confirm sightings, dispel rumors, and document their observations. Verified information is then published to TARRN’s public channels for the benefit and empowerment of the community. TARRN partners with local organizations to provide aftercare to affected community members as needed.

The TARRN hotline number is 307-454-0898.

TARRN’s objective is to confirm or dispel reports of ICE activity as soon as possible to enhance public safety, prevent panic, create accountability, and support impacted families. Organizations and individuals wishing to obtain timely information on immigration enforcement activity in Teton County are encouraged to follow the following public channels:

Verifiers are volunteers who physically respond to the location of reported enforcement activity. They are trained to assess whether the sighting is an active raid, targeted arrest, or false alarm, observe and document agent behavior and key information, remind community members of their rights, and provide real-time updates to the dispatcher to coordinate further legal or community responses. TARRN verifiers often wear blue vests and carry whistles to alert the community when ICE presence is confirmed. Verifiers are trained not to obstruct immigration enforcement activity.

Dispatchers are trained volunteers who act as the first point of contact with the TARRN hotline, answering calls about potential immigration enforcement activity, documenting reports, and coordinating deployment of TARRN’s verifiers. Because of the high volume of Spanish-speakers, all dispatchers are bilingual.

TARRN offers monthly training opportunities for verifiers and dispatchers. If you are interested in becoming trained, please apply below. After vetting is complete, you will receive a confirmation email with the location and other details about upcoming trainings.

Call our hotline if you witness ICE activity in the community, or want to document an experience with ICE.
